GMT's Relative Timing Designs Make Your System-on-Chips Better

GMT Design Services Offerings

GMT offers digital design services for its customers to help them achieve their System-on-Chip (SoC) targets. GMT primarily offers two types of design services: (1) Make It Better, where GMT analyzes customer SoCs for areas of power and performance improvement, and applies it’s patented Relative Timing (RT) approach to maximize the design, and (2) more traditional digital design services, using both GMT’s Relative Timing technology and standard synchronous design styles to help achieve target SoC objectives.

GMT’s Make It Better Design Process

We Make It Better in 4 Easy Steps:

GMT analyzes your SoC architecture for optimal Relative Timing subsystems and expected savings

Customer provides GMT with System-C, RTL or architecture specs for identified subsystems

GMT implements subsystems with RT and provides customer RT-implemented subsystems (tested and timed) as hard macro or netlist (coming soon)

Customer licenses RT as IP for future uses or engages GMT for subsequent design service implementations

Customer System-on-Chip

Green blocks represent identified candidates for RT enhancements; grey blocks left for later conversion to RT if/when appropriate.

Digital IC Design Services

GMT offers more traditional digital IC design services to its customers. From functional blocks to full turnkey packaged and tested silicon, and from more traditional clocked methodologies to GMT’s patented Relative Timing design methodology, GMT is flexible and can meet your design needs.

Types of services offered

Functional blocks or subsystems of an integrated circuit

From spec-to-GDSII, ready for tapeout on customer’s foundry and node

Full turnkey: from spec-to-silicon, including packaging and test

Design methodologies employed

GMT’s patented Relative Timing approach to digital IC design

More traditional synchronous clocked design methods

A mix of design styles based on circuit requirements and specifications

GMT as a Trusted Partner

Breadth of Experience.

GMT has technical expertise in many different design domains across many different nodes and foundries. GMT has silicon at leading edge technology nodes (TSMC 12 nm), and has fabricated chips and designs at both Global Foundries and TSMC. GMT is currently under development for a 5 nm design.

Expertise in:

      • Central Processing Units

      • Network-on-Chip

      • Fast Fourier Transform

      • First-in-First-Out (FIFO)

      • Interface components (SPI, UART)

      • Mixed Signal IP

      • Cryptographic (SHA-256)

RTL Design ("Front End")

GMT has expansive expertise with numerous tapeouts from 2 micron down to 12nm and have designed ASICs, microprocessors, mixed signal chips, signal processing, data center, and mobile designs.  Deep skills in high performance as well as ultra-low power design methodologies.

Architecture

GMT has experience in building robust architectures, and in SoC power and performance analysis and optimization of all sorts of circuits, including next generation CPUs.  Experience in detailed analysis of process impact on the SoC and SoC modeling, including design and system-level power and performance analysis experience, which is critical for designing low power, high performance SoCs.

Design Verification

Deep understanding of the entire ASIC design flow of bringing custom digital and mixed signal products to market. A concentrated focus on design verification (DV) and UVM flows, with many engineers with deep expertise in DV to ensure quality, functional designs.

CAD & EDA

CAD and EDA is a critical aspect of any design. Accurately modeling and verifying circuits across the entire threshold spectrum in multipatterned finFETs requires particular skill. GMT has expertise in building CAD tools and EDA flows that integrate into traditional CAD flows, with 9 custom-built CAD tools.
